Enforcement Directorate sends eighth summons to Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren

In a recent development, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent a letter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, expressing concern over his failure to appear before the agency despite receiving seven summonses. The letter, dated January 13, urges the Chief Minister to provide an explanation for his non-compliance between January 16 and 20.

ED's missive suggests that if Soren does not voluntarily appear, the agency may be compelled to take more assertive measures. This marks the eighth summons issued by the ED in its ongoing investigation against the Chief Minister.

Hemant Soren, accused of tarnishing his image, has yet to respond to any of the seven previous summons. The Chief Minister, in a letter questioning the ED's motives, has alleged that the agency's actions are politically motivated to besmirch his reputation. Meanwhile, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey from Godda took a jibe at Soren on social media, indirectly referencing the ongoing summons.

Dubey's tweet suggested that the summons were related to alleged sins and robberies, emphasizing the need for the Chief Minister to address the agency's questions and resign. The ED's letter has further intensified the political tensions, raising questions about the nature of the ongoing investigation.
